Survey on antiparasitic prescribing practices

The French Veterinary Council is circulating a survey prepared by the RFSA working group “Companion Animal Antiparasitics and the Environment” (Réseau Français pour la Santé Animale).

Its aim is to coordinate and promote actions in key areas, namely the ecotoxicology of antiparasitics for companion animals, the risk of resistance emerging, and the tools enabling the prudent use of antiparasitics.

An analysis of antiparasitic prescribing practices was identified as a prerequisite.

The questionnaire sent to all veterinarians aims to understand actual practices regarding the prescription of APE in dogs and cats in a preventive medicine context and outside a dermatological context.

The results will be presented at the AFVAC annual congress in Lille in November 2026.
